Full Moon Photo Fail!

Went to take some photos of the full moon over the water from West Island. I mounted my 70-200 2.8 Canon IS on my Mark II, then the rig to my tripod. In the dark I couldn’t figure out why the camera wouldn’t stay horizontal. When I got back to my car this is what I found.

What is an f-stop, and what does it do?

There are three things that allow you to make a photograph.  Film speed (ISO), shutter speed (how fast the shutter opens and closes), and the f-stop or aperture (the diaphragm in the lens barrel that closes to allow the light in to the camera).  In this blog I will attempt to explain how the aperture works and what it does.  I will touch on the other two points of exposure in another blog. iPhone Photo of the Day

So I have mentioned perspective a few times in the last 2 weeks, so today I thought I would take a photo from two different heights to show you the difference that taking the same photo from a different angle can make. iPhone Photo(s) of the Day

I ventured out on this bone chilling day in search of today’s iPhone Photo of the Day around 3PM, like I had mentioned yesterday as the sun gets low in the sky the light gets great to photograph. This low warm light is beautiful for portraits and photographing other objects not to mention the beloved sun set. Today I was blessed with a great sky. The sun was getting low and the horizon was turning orange, the sky above was covered in beautiful cloud cover that the bright blue sky was able to poke through. I shot this both...

So first off this is the second time I have written this blog…..I was out with a couple of friends for our ritual Tuesday night hang out and typed this blog out on my phone, then I hit a wrong button my mistake and there went the entire blog. So instead of typing it out all over again on a tiny little keyboard I decided to wait until I got home and do it on my lap top. After taking care of a few errands I had to do I bundled myself up and packed up all my gear...
